\u201cSCHOOL FOR LIFE” PROJECT (to be reactivated in 2025)\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>

The “School for Life” Project aims at following and helping young people experiencing difficulties in school – in particular students with socio-economic and family issues, students from immigrant families, students with psychological problems – from primary school to the end of their schooling and to university or work.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Within the framework of the project, the following activities are carried out:<\/p>

  • free tutoring in subjects in which the students have difficulties;<\/li>
  • listening and psychological support to cope with the difficulties encountered by the students in school and in daily life;<\/li>
  • photography workshops to promote understanding of the local context and a sense of belonging.<\/li><\/ul>

    Through this project, young people are supported and accompanied for as long as they wish and until they are actively integrated into society.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    The project was sponsored by the Municipality 9 of the Commune of Milan, for the school years 2016\/2017 and 2017\/2018.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    During the 2016\/2017 school year, the project was implemented in partnership with Rire, an association that refers to the Department of Psychology of the Catholic University of Milan. Two secondary schools participated: Scuola media di Via Maffucci 60 and Scuola media Falcone – Borsellino di Viale Sarca 24.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    During the 2017\/2018 school year, the project was implemented in partnership with the Chair of Intercultural Pedagogy at Bicocca University. A new institute, the Marelli Vocational School in Via Livigno – Milan, was added as a participant. The project has seen an exponential growth in the number of participating students, almost tripling the number of the previous year.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

    PARTNERSHIP AND SUPPORT TO THE STUDENTS OF SEDINA LIMAMOU LAYE HIGH SCHOOL (SENEGAL)\u00a0<\/b><\/p>

    The context<\/b><\/p>

    The Limamou Laye High School, located in the suburbs of Dakar, is a landmark institution in the world of education in Senegal. It has more than 13,000 students, many of whom face economic, family and social difficulties.\u00a0<\/p>

    For more than 15 years, EURIDIT has been working in this great institute with modest but appreciated interventions, both to support the learning of the Italian language and culture and to provide economic support to keep disadvantaged young people in school.\u00a0<\/p>

    The scholarships<\/b><\/p>

    In memory of Captain Francesco De Negri, killed by Nazi-fascists in the Cephalonia massacre, for more than 12 years EURIDIT has been granting scholarships to motivated students who are facing significant socio-economic challenges, or whose physical or mental health is precarious.\u00a0<\/p>

    In recent years, 80% of the scholarship recipients are girls and 20% are boys.\u00a0<\/p>

    During the last school year, 17 scholarships of 300,00 euros each were awarded. The identification of the students and their psycho-social and educational support is carried out in close cooperation with the high school staff and the on-site social worker.<\/p>

    The Italian Cultural Center “CAPITANO FRANCESCO DE NEGRI”<\/b><\/p>

    For over 10 years, EURIDIT has founded and supported the Italian cultural center “CAPITANO FRANCESCO DE NEGRI” at the Limamou Laye High School, in order to commemorate the figure and values carried by Captain De Negri, killed during the massacre – historically known – of Cephalonia.<\/p>

    To the vindictive and inhuman act suffered by her father, the daughter wanted to oppose an act of solidarity to remind young people of the values defended by the captain: the love of peace, democracy and rule of law.<\/p>

    The center currently welcomes about 50 students who have chosen Italian as part of their studies and supports them in their knowledge of Italian history and culture, and in the promotion of solidarity between peoples.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

    ANNUAL CONFERENCE ON SCHOOL DROPOUT IN ITALY<\/b><\/p>

    Every year, at the end of the school year, the results of the “School for Life” project are examined and then presented publicly at the Conference on school drop-out. During the conference, the dropout rate in Lombardy, Italy and Europe is examined and a report is drawn up on the project.     TRAINING AND CONFERENCES<\/b><\/p>\n

    The EURIDIT Private Foundation promotes training courses on: the European dimension in education; the Italian Constitution compared to the EU Charter and the Charter of Human Rights; music as a universal language; civic education in a European and international dimension; teaching the Italian language and culture.<\/p>\n

    The Foundation also organizes, hosts and participates in conferences, seminars and webinars related to the central themes of the Foundation’s mission.<\/p>\n
