Also this year the EURIDIT Foundation proudly supported a group of students in difficulty at the Limamou Laye High School in Dakar, through the assignment of 17 scholarships: 16 bags named after “Captain De Negri” e 1 borsa “Bruxelles Solidaires”, for a total amount of 5100 EUR (300 EUR per exchange).

We are happy to announce that 13 of the 17 scholarship holders have completed the school year. Among these:

  • 2 students have obtained their high school diploma, opening up new academic and professional opportunities for them;
  • 11 students will move on to the next class, continuing their journey to high school.

The rest 4 fellows did not pass the year, two of them will be admitted to the October exams because their studies were interrupted respectively for health reasons and for precariousness due to their migrant status in Senegal.

Excellence among fellows

Between the 17 beneficiary, three students stood out for excellent academic results. In particular, a scholarship holder was selected to participate in the competition for the best student in Senegal, a prestigious recognition at national level.

Concrete support for real needs

The social worker, which has been collaborating with EURIDIT on this project for years, confirmed that the scholarship holders were followed throughout the year and that the financial support was used to cover the main school expenses: transport, educational material, meals and medical care. An essential help to guarantee continuity and serenity in your studies.

Our foundation renews its commitment alongside the students of Dakar, convinced that the right to education is a fundamental tool for building a more just and supportive future. In addition to the study papers, the Foundation supports the “Capitano De Negri” cultural center, active in high school to promote the study of the Italian language among those enrolled in curricular courses. Every year, a Scholarship is awarded to a particularly deserving student of the Centre. The Center and most of the scholarships are named after Captain Francesco De Negri, fell in Kefalonia for having chosen to remain faithful to the oath to the Italian Government after the armistice of 1943.
